Behind the lens
I am a mom of two, an art teacher by day and photographer by night. I have been photographing families "professionally" for about 5 years. I love to capture real moments and natural interactions that tell your family's story. I draw my inspiration from nature and utilize beautiful scenery and dreamy "golden hour" light to create artistic imagery.
My photography journey began in 2013, a year after the birth of my daughter. I purchased my first dslr camera and taught myself how to shoot and edit photos! My love for photography grew even more after taking a darkroom photography class in college. I learned how to shoot with a traditional film camera and develop my own photographs in an actual darkroom! I loved the entire process, from going out and shooting to developing my film and seeing the photograph come to life!
Being a formally trained artist has allowed me to use my talent & skills to be creative and pursue photography as another creative outlet. I am passionate about photography just as much as teaching art and I love that I am able to do both!
